VS Code integration?

There's a similarly named extension in the VS Code Extensions marketplace, but it's definitely not this. Dumb question: can this integrate with VS Code? If so, how? I'd love to implement this for my team.

better-commits is written in Typescript, so a lot of the code would be easy to port over. I'm not sure how much additional effort would be required though. - Last time I used VS Code was over 4 years ago 😅.

Could be wrong, but there are a TON of users on VS Code now. It would be really cool to either A. chat with those folks I just linked to and argue out who owns the name (which is exactly the same) , and B. This version win out and I can use this in VS Code :)

@EdHaack-Sage - Definitely VS Code is the most popular editor. I am the outlier in being a long time Neovim user :). Just pointing out the later because writing VS Code extensions is not something I'm familiar with. And I tend to use the tools I make quite frequently (in this case, I wouldn't at all).

To clarify on this. Why do you need an extension? OR is it just preference to use a GUI over a TUI?

You can run better-commits in your VS Code Integrated Terminal. I believe you can even create a custom command in VS Code to run it from a key-map or the command palette.

Very true. Guess I've gotten spoiled. You are 100% correct and I could help by contributing this myself. I have a little experience creating extensions.

I think we might be talking past each other a little 😅.

Extensions are pretty common for CLIs that have many arguments and are difficult to remember (like nx console for example).

But better-commits doesn't really use arguments, it walks through the same prompts every time. So it's very similar to a workflow you might use in a GUI extension.

Thus, I think an extension of better-commits might be more effort than its worth, given that you can just run better-commits in VS Code terminal today.
