Freezing lockscreen for prolonged idle time in Ubuntu Hyprland

Hi, community. I am a newbie. I have recently installed hyprland on ubuntu using jakoolit's configs. Everything was working fine except when I kept my laptop idle for prolonged periods of time, the hyprlock is not registering my keyboard. This is not a keyboard issue as I tried with my laptop keyboard and external keyboard. The capslock also works fine so i understand the keyboard is not the problem. Any suggestions or help is very much appreciated.
