Is cockroachdb able to work with electric? any time plan?

Integrating with a source database is fairly involved so we're Postgres only for the foreseeable future. We will be publishing a spec for our sync protocol soon-ish so you could use that as a guide to building an integration with Cockroach which would work with the rest of the Electric ecosystem.
