Feature request: Advanced Tile Card - with template and custom features

Hello all.

Latest Home assistant evolution show a very deep and efficient use of the tile cards to create easily a nice and streamlined dashboard.

Tile cards are to my opinion a very good improvement of default cards, allowing an easy and quick definition of dashboard, while having a nice and simple look.

One thing seems to be missing to allow also advance users to fully migrate their dashboards to this default look: a fully customisable Tile card.

It is not possible to for example change the icon or icon color easily. You have either to go through card_mod or switch to mushroom cards (both being awesome, but are not fully home assistant integrated).
In the same manner, if you want to display a specific information, the only way to display Jinja2 template for the time being is the markdown card wich is not as nice as tile cards when placed together.

The currently missing aspect for a full customisation (all of them could be developed separately of course):

• customisation of the "basic" content of the Tile card through jinja2 templates:
  • icon and icon color
  • Main information
  • Secondary information
• customisation of the feature part: features are wonderful, but for the time being are driven by the entity linked to the card. A generic feature could propose a few customisable buttons or controls where you could control the icon, color, tap actions for example. as decribed here: Service call buttons feature widget for tile cards #19205

My dream would be a fully customisable tile card like this:

Workaround for the lower part (row of buttons) can be made using this project:

Now with Graphic interface for less advanced users.

And we are still missing the templating and customisable tile card (offered by the mushroom template card only for the time being)

My workaround available for the time being (preventing me to use tiles) is to use Mushroom template card (for the upper part) and mushroom chips (for the lower part).
For those interested, I have described it here in french (but code can be copy/pasted whatever your language...) The mushroom template card also features a small badge, very convenient... https://forum.hacf.fr/t/carte-mise-en-forme-de-ma-mushroom-room-card-et-tuto/20429

But this requires a lot of custom (mushroom template, mushroom chips, card mod, vertical-stack-in-card) for what could be a core feature if tile card would simply allow templating and customisable button features.

Any hope/update to have some advanced functionality into the Tile card family or do we have to stick to custom cards for Jinja templating?

The more I use Tile card, the more I miss the capacity to define simple customisable features...

Still several improvements / corrections missing for me on the Tile card in the shopping list:

Templating capabilities:

Or you have to define a dedicated template sensor for dashboard use, not very user friendly.

Remove all but icon:
To be able to remove both the name (currently not possible) and the state (currently possible) and thus keep only the icon in the center of the rounded square of the Tile. This is possible in the badges, but not in Tiles.
This could be an easy way to create quick and nice buttons related to an entity:

• with curent Tiles with the default icon and color behavior.
• with the here proposed template capability with a full control of the icon and color.

Features consistency
I would suggest as a generic UX principle for features to try as much as possible to have the features reflecting the state of the entity (like the icon) thus most of the time:

• grey when the entity is OFF (light grey or dark grey depending the theme)
• with the relevant color when the entity is ON

Generic features
2025.3 introduced the toggle feature for all toggle-able entities which was missing for a long time. But many entities still do not have features.
Instead of trying to create a dedicated feature for each entity type, maybe it would be useful to create some generic feature that would be user controlled. Moreover, those feature could allow to control other entities than the entity of the tile card. Some example:

• generic buttons (chose a number of button, and define for each: tap action, state, icon, color) with the same simple design as cover or vacuum buttons :
  
• generic toggle (with the capacity to chose which “toggle-able” entity to control)
  
• generic slider (set min, max and entity to display or control) similar as the light feature
  
  Like for the hold or double tap actions, theses “advanced” features could be “unlocked” through yaml, and once unlocked available in UI graphical interface.

Features for display for sensor

• A slider (with customisable min and max)
  
• a small graph zone (with customisable time duration, min and max)
  
  would be nice addition to create sensor tile with some visualisation capability.

The new Area card could be a beautifull basis for this, but is currently very limited in term of customization.

Many discussion are linked with the improvement of this card (eg not toggle ALL lights or switches of the area, but be capable to do a selection, or display other info than just temp and humidity...)

All these discussions could be answered by a customisable Tile (with Jinga2 template control) and customisable features.
