thanks for the great work with OpenDTU-OnBattery. I have an installation feeding an HM-1500 directly from a 16kWh battery and it works great!
Only disadvantage is that the WLAN on the ESP-S3-WROOM-32 has some trouble keeping the connection to my router because of the distance. So I tried to install OpenDTU-4MB-factory image on an with 4MB of flash (and NO PSRam!) , but with no success.
I ran into several problems:
the ESP-tool comments the installation with: "Warning: Image file at 0x0 doesn't look like an image file, so not changing any flash settings." Looking for a solution I tried different steps:
1.a) Striping the 'factory' part from the binary (the first 0x1000 bytes) which lets the mesage disappear (and -- of course -- starting the programming at 0x1000 also).
1.b) Using Tasmota Web-Installer to install the binary.
(this tool is smart and gets it all done, but ONLY with tasmota firmware, even on the UART-port ;-), but that is not what I want to install.
1.c) Trying the other port, pother binaries (generic, S32, etc.)
This all had no success.
Installing another boot-loader (but how ?!?) ...
Trying to install the OpenDTU (the NOT-OnBattery-version) with tasmota-tool.
This gave me at least this output after booting:
But there was no WLAN-access point opened (it looks like the device still waits for a new upload) and so I could not do anything.
After 2 days of intense searching, testing, and trying I am stuck and kindly asking for your help.
Thanx in advance
(if you hesitate writing / answering in English, I do also speak German -- falls jemand auf Deutsch antworten möchte, geht das auch ;-)
