Is there any advantage to using ESP32S3 with 16M vs 8MB Flash?

I am trying an alternate board to my Seeed Studios XIAO ESP32S3 Sense, due to instability issues possibly due to the board running so hot. The Freenove ESP32S3 on Amazon comes in an 8 and 16 MB variety. Does anyone know if the code supports the additional 8 MB of flash, or if it would be any advantage? I know the application is asking a lot of the ESP32S3.

My XIAO ESP32S3 Sense died from overheating - nice idea but not practical.
I use a Freenove ESP32S3. Either size flash can be used, makes no difference to app

Thank you. I have a couple on order to evaluate them. Hoping to avoid those pesky "Crash Loop Detected" errors. Your app is just what I need to be able to record and retrieve video from the PIR input pin! How hot do your Freenove boards get, and do you use heat sinks?
