Since Folia was released, the number of players a server can have is extremely high. However, there is a limit of 200 players per server that is reported on bstats. Is this limit chosen for certain reasons?

The maximum player count per server is capped at 200 for Bukkit/Spigot plugins. The reason is to make it harder for people to manipulate the data and messing with the charts (like faking a plugin with 100000 players).

On a server I manage, we had reached 500 players simultaneously. It all depends on the power of the server.
