Hello,

I am a beginner to Rust programming Language and Looking for a Rust mentor.

My aim is to use Rust for Solana development, System programming and also to contribute to the Rust language itself.

I am also looking and very much interesting in contributing to any Rust opensource projects.

I do not qutie understand how get a mentor ? Am I allowed to message anyone of them or
they will be matched to to me.

yeah, you can message anyone from the list, though I do recommend trying to pick someone whose listed topics most closely match your areas of interest to have the best chance of them saying yes.

I am Usman Akinyemi.

I am Linux and OpenSource lover with experience contributing to projects like Git, riscv, systemd and some other opensource projects. Currently in my fourth year studying Computer science and artificial intelligence.

I just got started with rust about a few days ago and am currently going through the rust book and solving the rustlings exercise. To kind of be accountable with my learning of RUST, I started streaming myself for 4hours everyday on my youtube which I still do till now.

I have been wanting to learn rust for a long time but I just got the opportunity when I enrolled in a Solana Bootcamp where rust is the major language of development.
I really want to get very good at the Rust programming language, that is why I am looking into starting to contribute to interesting Rust projects. I believe contributing to rust OpenSource project is a way to practice my learning more.

My time zone is IST about 9.5hours ahead of USA EST. So, around 10am to 4pm USA EST should work for email exchange. I am flexible with that though.
