Incompatible with Docker v28 (API 1.48)

Summary

The ECS Agent is not compatible with the newest version of Docker.

Description

With Docker v28, the following error occurs:

CannotCreateContainerError: Error response from daemon: unknown log opt 'fluentd-async-connect' for fluentd log driver

fluentd-async-connect was deprecated in back in 2020: moby/moby#39086. It seems like the value was finally removed in v28.

 Engine:
  Version:          28.0.1
  API version:      1.48 (minimum version 1.24)

Environment Details

• Ubuntu 24.04
• ECS Agent v1.91.2
• Docker v28.0.1

Hi @coadler , thanks a lot for reporting this issue. We are actively working to support the new fluentd-async option in ECS agent: #4558.

Just wanted to leave my +1 for this, since I need Docker 28.1.0 to fix an issue where /proc/stat can't be read by Docker (moby/moby@8327848)
