Hi, I’m Rahul 👋 (rahulthewarrior)

I’m an aspiring Cybersecurity Engineer learning Linux, Networking, and Python. I focus on practical, hands-on learning: CTFs, small security tools, system hardening, and clear write-ups I can share with the community.

🔭 Current focus

  • Learning Linux internals, shell scripting and hardening (Ubuntu, Kali)
  • Networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, Wireshark, and basic packet analysis
  • Python for automation (scanners, parsers, and CTF tooling)
  • Participating in beginner-to-intermediate CTFs and documenting solutions

🧰 Skills & tools

  • Languages: Python, Bash
  • OS/Platforms: Linux (Ubuntu, Kali), basic Windows familiarity
  • Networking: TCP/IP, Wireshark, Nmap, netcat
  • Security: Basic pentesting, vulnerability scanning, OS hardening concepts
  • DevOps/Infra: Docker, Git, GitHub
  • Learning goals: Metasploit, Burp Suite, OSINT tools, SIEM basics

🚀 Projects (examples — links to repos)

  • CTF Write-ups — detailed solutions for CTF challenges with notes and scripts
  • PortScanner-Py — small Python port scanner with concurrency and reporting
  • Linux-Hardening-Scripts — scripts and checklist for basic host hardening
  • Packet-Analyzer — Wireshark/export parsing helpers in Python

🧭 Roadmap / Certifications I’m aiming for

  • Short term: Complete 10 CTFs and publish write-ups, build 3 small automation tools
  • Mid term: Complete TryHackMe rooms and OSCP prep materials
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+, then OSCP (target)

📚 Learning resources I recommend

  • TryHackMe & HackTheBox (for practical labs)
  • OverTheWire (Bandit for Linux basics)
  • Wireshark University & Practical Packet Analysis
  • “Black Hat Python” for security scripting

Thanks for visiting — feel free to reach out if you want to collaborate on beginner friendly security tooling or CTF write-ups!
